Salvo Brass was formed in November 2002, has continued to grow and is now entering its 9th season. Formed initially to take part in the ‘traditional’ Whit Friday Marches around the Saddleworth area, the band has established itself and is in demand for various charity concerts.
A full diary for 2010/11 season which commences in September, see the band visiting Rugby, Earl Shilton, Stotfold and Leighton Buzzard. Check the diary page for details. The season will conclude with a CD recording, the band’s 5th, in preparation for the band’s 10th anniversary season 2011/12. The band will also be participating in the Whit Friday Marches where they hope to defend their trophy, 4th section award from their performance at Lydgate.
The band continues to draw its players from the East Midlands area, primarily with SA roots.
John Broadhurst leads the band for another busy season, supported by Iain Rayner the band’s resident composer/conductor.
